As active practitioners in this field, we recognise that many communities suffer from “consultation fatigue”, and as such the need for innovation is essential within this field if comprehensive engagement is to be achieved.
Furthermore, the benefits of community involvement and consultation can extend far beyond empirical findings; whenever possible DBDC seeks to create additionality within the consultation process by identifying and generating opportunities for local people to take an active role in undertaking the research; learning new skills and experience which may in turn open new opportunities for employment.
